Air Astana is set to expand its fleet
Kazakhstan’s Air Astana airline signed a preliminary deal to purchase up to 15 additional Boeing 787 aircraft, five firm orders, five options, and five purchase rights during the U.S.–Central Asia leaders’ meeting in Washington, USA
Deliveries are planned between 2032 and 2035, marking the airline’s largest-ever order, new aircraft will increase capacity on existing routes and enable future long-haul flights to North America
Somon Air signed major fleet renewal deal with Boeing
Tajikistan’s private airline Somon Air signed a commitment at the C5+1 Summit in Washington, USA to acquire up to 14 Boeing jets including its first-ever widebodies
The order includes up to four Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners for intercontinental routes and up to ten 737-8s to upgrade its short- and medium-haul network
Uzbekistan Airways plan to expand its Boeing order
Uzbekistan Airways has confirmed an option for eight additional Boeing 787-9s bringing its total firm order to 22 aircraft signed in Washington, D.C., USA on 6 November 2025
The new Dreamliners will start arriving in 2031 and will replace the airline’s Boeing 767-300s, strengthening its long-haul fleet and regional leadership in widebody operations
Qazaq Air launched flights to Samarkand and Bishkek
Kazakh regional airline Qazaq Air launched direct passenger flights ex Astana, Kazakhstan to Samarkand, Uzbekistan VV on 7 November 2025 and to Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan VV on 10 November 2025
Flights operate twice a week using De Havilland Q400 aircraft
Hancock Aviation expands in Kazakhstan
Hancock Aviation opened line maintenance stations at Shymkent (CIT) and Turkistan (HSA) to service foreign transit aircraft on 12 November 2025
The company plans to reopen stations at Astana (NQZ) and Karaganda (KGF) by year-end, operating under Hancock Aviation Kazakhstan LLP

Road freight turnover in Kazakhstan grew by 31.6%, reaching 38.6 billion ton-kilometers in January–October 2025
